When organizing a grounding system in a suburban home, you can use as a ground electrode one of the following metal structures of natural origin:

  • any reinforced concrete piles buried in the ground;
  • metal pipes located on the surface of the earth or rails;
  • other metal elements of building structures, buried in the ground.

In the event that near the house nothing like this can be found succeeds – you have to do the grounding preparation by yourself.

To make this ground element you will need prepare three steel electrodes 1.2 meters long, which subsequently welded together so that in the result of these operations is a triangle forms.

(When choosing as the electrodes segments of the steel pipe diameter must be at least 30 millimeters).

Before placing such a structure on the ground, you should prepare a place for her in advance by digging three ditches deep half a meter (in the form of a triangle with sides approximately 1.2 in length meter). Then in the corners of the resulting figure with a small sledgehammers should score three previously cooked and good pointed on one side of the electrode. For connection driven electrodes between each other, strips of steel with a cross section of at least 50 mm2. All parts of the resulting structure at the joints securely welded (or articulated using bolted connections).

Next, using a copper wire with a cross section of 6 mm2, passed through a hole in the wall and mounted on this bolt, you need to connect the forwarded bus to the main ground bus (GZSh) placed on a distribution board. To correctly resolve the issue of how to do it right grounding you have to perform the operation of the so-called “splitting” of the PEN conductor, which is part of the cable, from which is powered by your house.

To get a separate ground bus, this wire must be divided into protective and working conductors (PE and N respectively)

Such splitting can be organized with the help of what is already familiar to us. main ground bus.

On this bus in addition to the PEN conductor (wound on switchboard from the air line or from the underground cable) the previously made grounding conductor is also supplied, connected by bolting to the grounding bus.
